Sbírat vše, co najdete, se nemusí vyplatit. A už vůbec ne, když to najdete na vojenské skládce. Student Michael takhle našel něco, čeho se nedá zbavit...

Potulovat se po vojenských smetištích, to by se jednomu také nemuselo vyplatit. Takhle to ale pohodlný, nicméně důmyslný student Michael rozhodně nevidí. A tak se stane, že na jedné podobné skládce nalezne zvláštní zářící věc. Zprvu pěkné technické udělátko se ukáže být velmi nebezpečným předmětem, jenž dokáže manipulovat s časem a navíc na Zem láká až příliš nápadné množství rozličných nestvůr z minulosti i budoucnosti, s nimiž by si lidstvo také nemuselo poradit. Nejvyšší čas zářivý prstenec zlikvidovat. Ale ejhle, ono to nejde tak snadno...
