1961. Ο Στάνλεϊ Μίλγκραμ σχεδιάζει ένα ψυχολογικό πείραμα, κατά το οποίο άνθρωποι νομίζουν ότι προκαλούν ηλεκτροπληξία σε άλλους, σε κάποιο άλλο δωμάτιο. Ο επιστήμονας προσπαθεί να αντιληφθεί την έννοια του Ολοκαυτώματος. Τα αποτελέσματα είναι θεαματικά: το 65 τοις εκατό υπάκουσε στις θανατηφόρες διαταγές. Ο Μίλγκραμ κατηγορείται ως τέρας. Αλλά αυτό δεν τον σταμάτησε, ούτε μείωσε τον αριθμό των πρωτοποριακών του πειραμάτων.
