Η Σάρα, μια 16χρονη έφηβη κοπέλα με τάσεις αυτοκτονίας και παραισθήσεις, μετακομίζει στο Λος Άντζελες με τον πατέρα της και τη μητριά της για να ξεκινήσουν μια καινούρια ζωή. Η Σάρα γράφεται στο Καθολικό σχολείο όπου θα γίνει φίλη με τρεις κοπέλες, τη Νάνσι, την Μπόνι και τη Ροσέλ. Οι κοπέλες έχουν η καθεμία τα προβλήματά τους και επιθυμούν να κάνουν τις ζωές τους καλύτερες. Οι τρεις τους εξασκούν μαγεία και όταν προσέχουν ότι η Σάρα έχει τις δυνάμεις μιας μάγισσας, την πείθουν να πάρει μέρος στη σύναξή τους. Αφού η Σάρα συμφωνήσει, συνηδειτοποιούν ότι με μια τέταρτη μάγισσα, μπορούν να κάνουν ξόρκια που δεν μπορούσαν πριν και να αρχίσουν να καλυτερεύουν κάποια πράγματα στη ζωή τους. Όμως όπως όλα τα πράγματα στη ζωή, υπάρχει ένα τίμημα. Οι δυνάμεις τους σύντομα θα τις συνεπάρουν και θα στραφεί η μία ενάντια στην άλλη.
