Portret van twee jonge Inuit die vechten voor het voortbestaan van hun cultuur. Het smeltende ijs van de Noordpool verkleint hun jachtgronden snel. Tegelijkertijd staan zakelijke belangen watertandend in de rij om het gebied te exploiteren. De jonge Inuit Aleqatsiaq groeide deels op in Denemarken, waar zijn moeder werd gedood. Nu woont hij in het afgelegen Groenlandse dorp Qaanaaq, waar zijn oom hem de kneepjes van het jagen bijbrengt. Maatalii is een jonge vrouw die herstelt van een onderdrukkende relatie. Beiden gingen ze terug naar de plek waar hun cultuur en geschiedenis zijn gevormd. Maar hun manier van leven wordt, opnieuw, bedreigd door krachten van buiten.
