De voormalige skater Lucas verneemt het nieuws dat zijn vader, die van hem vervreemd was, overleden is en hem een flatgebouw in Los Angeles nalaat. Lucas voelde zich altijd door zijn pa in de steek gelaten en trekt ernaartoe met de idee het gebouw te verkopen. De huurders van de flats daarentegen houden andere herinneringen over aan de overledene. Lucas blijft een tijdje op de plek rondhangen en wordt terwijl met de pijn, die hij sinds zijn jeugd met zich meedraagt, geconfronteerd.
